A Proposal To Failed Bar Examinees

Since last May, I have tried to build a community that would lessen the surprise, anxiety and stress of the California bar exam. I'm happy to report that this blog is read not only by those taking the California bar exam, but by examinees of every state. I've kept up with my email and thank those of you that email me with small notes of appreciation.

I know my blog has gone dormant for a few months, but there really isn't much for me to blog when everyone is only waiting for results.  As we go forward toward a new exam session, I will be blogging more consistently. For that reason, I need your help.

To extend the helpfulness of out community, I want to post failed exams so people can better gauge where they are at when they are studying for the exam.  However, getting exams has proved difficult.
I don't expect anyone to be able to turn off the competitive nature that carried you through law school. However, grades for each examinee are determined independent of each other, not relative to one another. Therefore, I want to impress upon all of you that helping another examinee does not hurt you.

The feeling of competition is still going to exist and I understand that its difficult to overcome. However, perhaps I can provide an incentive.  This is my proposal.

To those California bar examinees that failed the bar exam, let me help you. By sending me your essays and grades, I will write a detailed critique of your strengths, weaknesses and ways to improve. Your identity will remain anonymous. In exchange, you agree to let me post your essays and my critique on this blog to help other examinees. Some tutors charge hundreds of dollars to critique essays. I'm not looking for money. In essence, my proposal: I help you, you help me by helping this community. Its win-win.

If your interested in getting a critique of your exam, please email me at timadvises@gmail.com. I look forward to working with you in expanding our community!
